This replacement sash is custom-engineered to fit into original Scherer Far North Casement window frames. While these replacement sashes and simulated divided lite (SDL) bars are designed to function seamlessly in your existing openings, they are not an exact aesthetic match to original Far North profiles.
What’s Included & Specifications

Construction: Heavy .050" extruded aluminum clad exterior over an interior pine core.

Included Components: Glass unit, interior pine frame, and factory-installed weatherstripping on the top (head) and two vertical sides.

Moisture Management: Bottom weatherstripping has been deliberately omitted in this updated design to allow proper moisture weeping.

Exterior Finishes: 8 standard clad colors painted to meet AAMA 2605 performance specifications. Custom color matching is available for orders of 20 or more sashes (upcharge applies). We strongly recommend ordering a color palette card (search "color palette" in the top search bar) to verify clad color before ordering.

Interior Options: Raw pine (ready for staining) or pre-primed (ready for painting).

Glass Options: Choice of three standard glass types, optional tempered safety glass, and optional grilles-between-the-glass (GBG).

Removable Grille Notice: Existing wood removable grilles will not fit these new replacement sashes. Removable grilles are no longer manufactured or available.
Sizing & Ordering Guidelines

Custom Manufactured: All sashes are custom made-to-order and are non-returnable.

Dimensions: Selection sizes listed above show the original Far North exterior "call-out" size, glass size, and exterior sash size for side-by-side comparison.

Profile Sizing Differences: Because updated replacement sashes use refined manufacturing profiles, your new sash dimensions may differ slightly from your original units. However, they are engineered to fit the same rough frame opening. Always use your original exterior sash measurements as your primary baseline.
Hardware & Installation

Hardware Not Included: Hardware is not included. You must measure, mark, and transfer existing hardware from your old sash to the new unit. Precise hardware placement is critical for smooth operation.

Hinge Upgrade Recommended: We strongly advise purchasing a new adjustable hinge and track kit for each sash to simplify final alignment and operation during setup.
